Hi - I belong to a sporting club (incorporated society) where we operate on a Sunday and allow visitors to 'have a go' for a fee. We're looking at offering payments with cards, rather than the cash only we've been running and it looks like the Swipe system that's being offered via Spark could suit us well

As well as accepting payment from visitors who don't have cash it would also be good to accept payments from our club members for equipment hire and subs payment etc.

Just wondering if anyone has experience with this system - either accepting or making payments through it, or thoughts on it's suitability for our type of operation? Thanks for any input.

Although I haven't used it in a professional setting, I've had a decent play around with it and it sounds pretty optimal for what you'd be using it for. They support a lot more devices than I originally anticipated for their app as well which is always a bonus :)

Great - thanks for that. As we are situated in a spot that doesn't get great cell coverage we may have to look at a cell booster of some kind. I would imagine that better reception would help with efficient transactions.

My parents are looking to get a simple EFTPOS facility for their small business - and I mentioned this after Spark started advertising it (though do note that they are only advertising it, not actually reselling it.)

From my reading, Swipe works as long as the terminal and your phone are on the same WiFi network - e.g. your club's or your mobile hotspot. No actual need for 3G coverage.
