Hi! I got my Bigpipe UFB connected today in Christchurch, And can't really complain about the speeds (higher than what I pay for)
But anyway, I thought i'd post how to get up and running on Bigpipe UFB using a TP-Link Archer C2 (also known as AC750). You can pick these up at PBTech with a bit of a discount for Bigpipe customers (around $105)
- Once your ONT is online, connect an ethernet patch cable from LAN1 or GE1 on your ONT to the WAN port on the Archer C2 and connect the power to your router
- At this point it is always a good idea to update your router to the latest firmware, and factory reset it so you get a clean start. You can reset it using the button at the back (doesn't require a pen) or by logging into the web interface and choosing System tools > Factory Defaults
- Connect up your PC to one of the LAN ports on the router, alternatively connect to the WiFI using the details printed on the bottom
- Open a web browser and go to 192.168.0.1
- Enter the username: admin password: admin
- You should be greeted by the Quick Setup screen, like this. If not, click Quick Setup
- Choose PPPoE and click next
- Enter the username bigpipe and password bigpipe, leave secondary connection disabled
- The next step is configuring your wifi, First it asks if you want both 2.4 and 5ghz enabled
- Enter your wifi name and keys for both your 2.4 and 5ghz
- It will now confirm all of your settings
- Quick setup is complete, You should be good to go, if not give your router a restart
If you would rather not use quick setup, you can do it by choosing Network>WAN like this
Hope this can help someone out, Maybe they will send me a pool noodle or something now :P
