It was said about six months ago that there would hopefully be some good news before the end of the year regarding Bigpipe rolling out IPv6. (Unfortunately the previous thread's locked now.)

Has anyone heard any more about this?

(Bigpipe: Once again, I'd be happy to put my hand up as a guinea pig.)

I believe they were working on it however have got other things to be working on too. I am on a test IPoE connection but no sign of IPv6 just yet. There is no dire need for IPv6 at the moment but would be hella nice to have (since everything I have is managed by IPv6 so have to jumphost)

as per michaels comments, know it's definitely in testing although no word on when it will be rolled out.

They did bring us Gigabit before the other providers (in my case) so can't be too mad with them for not bringing us IPv6 yet.

2degrees supports IP6. I turned it off, it wasn't useful.

Seems a bit backward to me, but each to their own.

Will be cool when Bigpipe do go live with v6. The more providers offering it, the better. Vodafone recently seem to have dipped their toes into the pool, but retreated again.

Quick survey:
Am I right in thinking that 2degrees is currently the only domestic ISP that definitely offers IPv6 with static prefix allocations? Other than that, I believe there's basic support from Orcon (cough) and Trustpower, both of whom only offer dynamic allocations. There's also DTS, who I think might offer static IPv6, but seem to be a bit of an enigma.

Anyone aware of any others?

According to this page, Sinch also offers static IPv6 prefixes.

How did you manage to get switched to that?

It would be nice if they rolled out the local POPs that they mentioned 5 months ago too, my ping to Chch game servers I play on isn't that great because all my traffic goes up to Auckland first (I'm in Dunedin).

Suspect you will be looking at after the holiday period as we are going into the resting period for most of the network devisions at ISPs (surpirsed slingshot made a launch at this time tbh)

As for Vodafones rollout mentioned earlier in this thread, that has flopped so hard it isn't even funny. They have haulted any further rollout till the issues are resolved.

to be fair, i do understand part of this is also a bit of the M2 group merging products so they already did have a platform running this to integrate into.
