Hey all,

I've always had security suite on my PC but use Kaspersky on my phones, tablets etc. Because McAfee is frre, I haven't really given it much thought but what do people think?

Is it good to try others other there for PC?

On my PC I just use windows defender,it gets the job done fine.

No, it doesn't. You may think it does, but it is awful at picking up threats. Even worse it has been leveraged recently as an attack vector. Which is quite possibly the worst thing that could ever happen to AV software.

Well I haven't been hacked yet and none of my data has not been stolen. It works for me (my opinion)

Stick with Kaspersky , since youve allready paid for it.
Note what John McAfee thinks of the product that has his name on it . Theres a very funny youtube vid he did. :-)

Not sure I'd:

- go with Kaspersky given the Israeli findings on their data collection

- go with the opinion of a drug fueled lunatic who allegedly murdered his next door neighbour

I tried the McAfee stuff a few years ago, but it was slowing my machine down too much. On my Windows 7 laptop, I've been using AVG for years, but don't like the way that's working for me at the moment, amongst other things, that laptop is getting a bit old and tired, and is due for a massive cleanup and/or replacement.

On a side note, I was wandering through one of my local retailers not long after massive problems were announced about an update for McAfee's definitions. I spotted a popup on one of their demo machines, "McAfee. You're computer is at risk." Had a quiet chuckle.
