My MyRepublic contract ended about 2 months ago and looking around it seems I can now get 950/500 for the same price I'm paying for my 100/50 if I accept a 12 month contract. I suspect I won't notice the difference most of the time (although my main connections are all wired GbE) but since I can, why not?

Anyway so Skinny, MyRepublic and Slingshot all have it for ~$100. (Orcon also but you need 24 months.) Since I want a landline, it gets a little more complicated, still I just consider them all the same. (Slingshot is actually cheaper if I don't need extra features like caller ID.) However I can currently get 6 months half price with Slingshot using a promocode valid to the end of August. Is there anything at all similar for Skinny that I've missed?

Frankly given my expectations and demands, it does mostly come down to price.

Yes I know Skinny technically allows no contract, but since they demand you buy their modem even if you don't want it (I got a TP-Link C9 from MyRepublic), and you also have to pay the connection fee, it's only $100 less than the ETF and I don't think it that likely I'll be switching. Plus after 2 months of half price it'll be equivalent anyway.

Service wise, now that Skinny won't force me to CG-NAT and since MyRepublic still let you get a static IP (albeit with a $50 one time fee) I consider them similar. Yes I know some have had bad experiences with My Republic but perhaps because I joined in mid 2016 I've never found any speed or other problems that seem to definitely be because of My Republic. (Not counting like when Vocus broke recently etc.) Their customer service response time was very bad the one time I needed it although the actual response was resonably good. I'm still annoyed about the way they handled their D2D agent offering me something that didn't exist so I definitely have no particular loyalty to them. I suspect it's a moot point since I doubt I'm pretty sure they also don't have a half price offer and I doubt I'll convince them to offer it to stop me porting.
