Everyone seems to complain about ADSL usually (including me), but since we went fs/fs at work the other day, speeds are just stupidly fast:

Wish I could get the same at home! My house is *much* closer to the exchange than the office is. Though the office will be on lines that are much newer, and the office uses a Cisco modem/router.

I have seen those sorts of speeds (and slightly faster even) from ADSL at home, but again downloading Linux ISO's. Updates in Ubuntu can come down pretty quick too. So is the Linux community the only ones hosting with enough bandwidth (and probably low demand) to sustain what is basically maximum ADSL1 speeds?

Business is downloading during business hours? ISPs tend to have more available bandwidth during nonpeak residential hours.

No I am not sure, but our house in the market so I can't be bothered doing anything about it.

We are probably going to build a new house, so I will do the wiring in that myself...

No I am not sure, but our house in the market so I can't be bothered doing anything about it.

Well thats good, i reckon you should get a splitter put in from the start, makes everything tidier when you don't have filters hanging out of jackpoints.

I will probably put a small patch panel in the attached garage, and install a splitter, a BT jack for DSL, a BT jack on the phone side for testing, and CAT5e from there...
