Hi,

I was wondering if Telecom was releasing sim cards any time in the next few years to use in Vodafone phones, would it only be CDMA and GSM capable phones, are all Vodafone GSM only, or is Telecom going GSM altogether and would that mean you could unlock a Vodafone phone to Telecom?

I'm asking because I want to get an old symbian Vodafone phone like a Nokia 6600 but do $10 text.

Cheers

Telecom is due to launch a new W-CDMA network later this year. This will mean that you will need a SIM card and a compatible phone to use the new network. If you phone is capable of GSM 850Mhz and UMTS 2100Mhz then it will work with Telecom's new network.

Vodafone NZ block all Telecom SIM cards (currently used in WorldMode phones) and Telecom blocks Vodafone SIM cards.

Could you expand on this? Are you reffering to the handsets being locked to take a SIM only from that provider?
