So I'm having the same issue as reported a while back here https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=39&topicid=223532

However the answer from that thread didn't work for me. I had issues logging into ANZ and after getting them on the phone I had my 2FA removed. I'm still not getting the code when I try to re-add the number.

I'm receiving SMS messages from my contacts as normal.

Any ideas?

When I ported from Spark to 2degrees, and then a few months later back to Spark, on both occasions it took about 24-48 hours before the ANZ SMS codes worked

Aargh, that's pretty frustrating. I guess I'll check again after a day or two thanks.

How can the tech be that poked in 2019!!?

SMS Providers work a little differently. Instead of going via the mobile network they go via IP to the messaging core of the provider. When a number port happens they can sometimes get somewhat confused with where they're sending a message to. I've seen some numbers who have ported to/from Spark recently taking upwards of 2 days to start successfully delivering.

This is against multiple SMS gateway providers so I am guessing there is an issue on Sparks end somewhere as we've seen this from/to ports to both Vodafone and 2degrees from/to Spark however Vodafone/2degrees ports appear to work fine.

The problem is it's not just ANZ, all the providers that were using SMS for 2FA aren't working for me so having to reset this by talking to each of them over the phone is a pain.
