I just discovered today (after getting the impression there were problems late last week) no telecom landline or mobile customer is able to call any skype number, e.g. mine which is 09 889 2084

Google "phone 09 889" and try to call any phone number listed... it will come up disconnected.

They all work fine from Vodafone, Telstra etc.

30 minutes on the phone with telecom customer support, faults etc got me nowhere.

The irony for me is that I aciqrued the skype number after telecom abruptly disconnected my telecom number a few months ago... now my business can only be reached via the telecom number.

How hard is it to get phone calls???

If you search the forums you will find the reason why and telecom do not have to connect calls to that range.

They aren't the only teleco to not switch calls to that range.  I also believe you can't port numbers from them to another provider either.

I think it has something to do with that provider not signing a particular agreement - hopefully someone more in the know will help me out here.
