Hi all,

surely some people here are aware that above message is sent regularly from Xtra if you use their outgoing mail servers and sent from a domain that is not registered with Xtra. The email states that an email message is being held up and won't be sent unless you "unlock" the senders email address.

I'm acting for a customer of Telecom with about 10 phone numbers and 3 ADSL accounts who has their main domain hosted somewhere else. After endless discussion with the Telecom help desk we spent 2 hours registering their 20 email addresses online. According to their reluctant help desk you actually can only register 10 email adresses, but you can register another 10 on each of your 10 free sub accounts.

However, now these messages are back, To my best knowledge and after looking into mailboxes and talking to Telecom no message has ever been held up.

How do I get rid of these messages.

Due to the customers location and other reasosns, we cannot completely switch away from Telecom. I don't want to make it too easy for Telecom as well ;)

Thanks for any ideas.

Kind Regards,

Jochen

You should search the forums, as this has been posted, but if you need to register more than 10 accounts sign up for a free Gmail account and use Gmail’s pop settings as the outgoing mail server with Gmail user name and p/w.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

thanks for this. I actually have most of them already moved to an authenticated smtop gateway that I control. However one I cannot move over.

Are you saying that these messages are working correctly. How often do they come through. I can't seem to see any frequency to them, but I know emails are sent daily through xtra.

I'm happy to go through all PCs again, just wanted to get to the bottom of this first.

Kind regards, Jochen

If using Outlook to send out - update to the latest Service Pack.
If they have a domain and a network mail host why aren't they using stmp.mybusiness.co.nz?

I personally use the Xtra servers for most of my emailing, and just register the accounts and it works perfectly. I only receive that email when an account it not registered.

I have tested gmail accounts and they work fine from my limited testing as an outgoing server on non xtra.co.nz email addresses.

Ok then,

I'll change them all over to the domain host, but the one that "needs to be separate"

Thanks for the feedback, I was of the impression this email is actually bogus.

Kind regards,

Jochen
