Anyone at Spark have any information on the internet outage that is affecting Styx/Casebrook area of Christchurch. It started about 11.30pm last night. Enable have nothing on their site and Spark say there is an outage at Okuku Waimakariri however that is miles away (unless related in someway to the fires near Rangiora).

Some info on likely timing to resolve would be appreciated. Thanks

Chorus showing at least 5 outages in the area of the fire.

if you have logged a fault with your ISP then all ya can do is wait.

- assume they did basic trouble shooting?

It’s not Chorus in Christchurch, it’s Enable and they have no issues showing on their website. This is a Spark issue and the only outage they show on their Outage page is for Waimakariri, which is not Casebrook/Styx. Have had no response from Spark on any of the socials. Would just like some info on likely timing.

Ill bite, very momentarily while I am logged into my work stuff....
Something did happen around the time you mention, in the general area I think you are talking about, most customers seemed to have a 15min blip then restore. I will take it this was Enable pushing one of their network upgrades they are doing at the moment. Without an ONT position to go searching for its about as specific as I want to get before I start looking for PtWs or problems.

Outage has now been resolved.

One suggestion to Spark is to post the outage on your outage page as if someone only had spark internet and no mobile plans they would have had no idea what was happening - from the messaging I finally had from Spark the outage was identified at 10.4pm last night, was a wide outage (not just me) and yet nothing posted at all on their outage page, which can lead people to think it's an issue with their own equipment/setup and not a network fault.
