My IT skills don't really extend too much into phones and cellular stuff. If this should be in the other thread regarding Spark stability moderators please shift this to there.

I have an issue withe calls from and to cellular phones. The call will have micro dropouts. These can be for a few seconds or drop completely. I have used my SIM in my Nothing Phone (3a) and an aging iPhone 15 Pro Max and experiencing the same. Days can go by without issue then bam the problem returns. Some days are worse than others. I live in central Hutt Valley and have a strong 4G connection but no 5G connection. A sort hop from home gives me a good 5G connection and I have noted that the issue occurs away from home as well as at home.

Both handsets are full updated to current versions of their respective OS and all Apps are updated. I have cleaned the SIM and examined it for damage to the best my aging eyes can manage. The phone is a vital lifeline for me and I am anxious about losing connectivity entirely. Any ideas folks?

Possibly related to @michaelmurfy's topic?

I considered that but was unsure as I have not noticed any data issues just the call dropouts.

It affects both calling and data. I mainly notice it on data. If it is a particular location then drop it in that thread :)

@michaelmurfy The issue also occurs in locales away from my home in Te Awakairangi. This weekend in Porirua and in Thorndon. If you feel its bundled up in your problem please feel free to move my post to the thread you started as it would be better if the issue is being viewed in entirety.

One NZ is having an outage right now but if your issue has been happening longer than that it’s likely not the problem.

I had a long online discussion with Spark yesterday. They asked me to do stuff like clean the SIM, restart the Phone, try another phone. They then advised me to remove the SIM and they will take me off the network and re add, then reboot the handset again. They are going to monitor the connection.

It would seem that what ever Spark did in the back end my issue seems to be resolved. I have not experienced any dropouts in the last twenty four hours. A big relief indeed.
