Currently using a HTC titan .. been a great phone .. a few negatives for it, but on the whole , a fun device.
Was contemplating going for a iphone .. they do look fun, but the biggest downer for me is the fact they can only use google maps for there GPS .. which requires an acticve data connection. me being stingy and not wanting to pay for data charges everytime i use the GPS.

Where the titan is using GPS with tomtom .. absolutly awsome, it started of as a fun gimmick on my phone, but i find i use it on the road all the time now .. as well as being a fun gimmick :)

Assuming the HTC touch HD will work on the new telecom network, was leaning more towards one of those that an iphone, still not overly sure. Have been watching a friend play with his iphone, definatly cool graphics and some cool looking games, but i like the versatilty of WM and all the 3rd party apps you can get for it.

any other phones anyone is eyeing up ?

When iPhone OS 3.0 comes out - suspected in the next couple of months after WWDC, it will include turn-by-turn GPS with BYO maps, so I'd expect TomTom and the like to be releasing an App for use with that, and if you've already got the maps it should just be a simple case of importing them.

After hunting around a little more i see the htc touch HD comes out in two different versions :

T8282 - 900 / 2100 mhz

T8285 - 850 / 2100 mhz

The t8285 was brought out for australia on their Telstra network.

*sigh* yay for the fine print. I was eyeing up the diamond2 for when the new telecom network comes out. You've made me go and check and while gsm is quadband wcdma isn't and only appears to be 900/2100.

I'm looking at the HTC pro also..top of the list 2nd option is the sony xperia but HTC PRO is best

check this site...huge selection as i think xt network will use most of the top models there

check this site...huge selection as i think xt network will use most of the top models there

I've owned both and the Xperia is the better phone in fact, not by a lot, but a distinct margin between them.

Sound vaugely promising i may be able to get a touch HD, assuming i can get the correct version.
of course. however i still need to find the $1300 to buy it i guess. :)
