Anyone else noticed since the telecom settings are with apple that you can't tether your iphone with os 3.0 over XT ???
Is there anyway to get around it???

How did you tether your iPhone 3G without jailbreaking it in the first place?

EDIT: Sorry, didn't realise you were running OS 3.0. Embarassed

It is possible to make up "config" files (see http://www.unlockit.co.nz) for certain Settings..

I have been been working on the settings for the 3G Iphone's V3 working.

just need someone to test them out as I only have a 2G iPhone which dosn' t have MMS or Tethering at all on V3

The NZ Carrier file should work fine. (off here or from unlockit.co.nz).. try the online http://www.unlockit.co.nz from your iPhone and click on the Enable Tethering and MMS option as well..
but as I said the IPCC file should work fine

I don't know what that means, but I have sent feedback to Apple requesting an official Telecom carrier file. Even if Telecom doesn't end up selling the phones, it'd be nice if you could get "plug and play" with a Telecom SIM.

If anyone else is interested, here's where you can do it.

When I try to tap the "Set Up Internet Tethering" button, I get a : "To enable tethering on this account, contact Telecom NZ" message. Is there a way around that, without paying extra to xtra? I'm on prepay 120MB data plan with XT.

P.S. Tethering worked fine when using the 3.0 betas.
