If the data can become cheap enough to use it would make it a great option for someone like myself who is not close enough to the exchange to get any advantage from ADSL2.

There would have to be significant investment in backhaul though for it to become a feasible alternative to adsl.

As none of the devices on the market in NZ can actually get the full speed of the current XT Network at the momen (or are there?).. will there be devices which can use the 42Mb/s next year?

oooh, very very nice. Even I'm having a challenge keeping up and i'm at the forefront and brain-flooded with 3GPP specs.

Aren't most of the cellsites (at least the urban ones) already on a fibre backhaul??
