Hi just out of curiosity was wondering if any rare breed of geek is connected to Telecom Broadband via abovementioned router at ADSL2 speed?

I am using this router and when i was with slingshot I was connected at 12 Mbps (all speeds mentioned are raw line speeds not tested speeds, which are 1-2 Mbps lower) and when i switched to telecom can only connect at 7 Mbps. Using the free supplied Thomson it can connect at 12 Mbps.

Hmm ... any ideas? (Apart from spending a couple of hundred bucks on a Belkin or Dynalink)

I got my G604T from Telecom at the start of 2008; I connect at 12Mbps

I had the same issue with my old 604t, Currently have the Thompson wireless router and get double the connect rates with it.
I thought it might have been an issue with the firmware, but I took the easy way out and got the Thompson instead.
Then again the Thompson is ADSL2 cabable and the D-Link wasnt.
Im on Go Large and getting 11 MBps on nzdsl.

Thanks. THere's a 1st gen (before oct 2007) and 2nd gen (from oct 2007). 1st gen is not rated adsl2 capable. 2nd gen is rated adsl2 capable.

What i'm curious is that my 1st gen was able to connect at a line speed of 12Mbps with slingshot before. All the settings apart from the username (slingshot -> xtra) are exactly the same.

I find this very strange. Anyone knows any settings i can tweak? Currently it says i'm on ADSL2+ multimode. There are at least 10 other settings of ADSL connection. Perhaps i should try them 1 at a time ... but i do have this policy of if it aint broke dont fix it ... otherwise the poor Dlink could ... DIE!
