I'm needing drivers - I can't find any explicitly for the 6255 - does anyone know of another nokia driver that will work? I've installed a few nokia at random, but they must not be bluetooth models because they don't even appear in the phonelink list.

Do you want to use data or dial? I'd think the default drivers would work fine with this phone - I've used them with other brands without problem.

I personally haven't tried it myself. Generally Nokia phones are by default in Circuit Data mode not Packet. If you want to do data you should be able to get into packet mode by using +crm=1;+cso=33

Would be keen to hear how you get on.

i've got dialing working using 7110 drivers

but data - i can't work that one out.
Using the 7110 dirver, in phonelink to set up a network service, i'm prompted for phone number, username and password.

I gave up that method and instead just set up a PPP lan connection between the palm and the nokia. It connected just fine, but all my palm apps reported there was no DNS.

Taniwha, have you tried entering the #777 number and standard Telecom CDMA password?

tried those, in combination with the 7110 driver

The nokia says "Calling #777".. then after about 15 seconds the nokia says "Data call ended"
This ends with the palm saying "Error: no carrier"

Try going into prefs > connection > 'whatever your modem is called' > edit > details

then under 'Init String:'
+crm=1;cso=33

The phone link wizard sets up a phone connection of type "phone"
and tha network connection of type "LAN"

i've created another of type "modem", and now i'm able to enter this init string.

using this as the connection inside my network -
and EUREKA!!! it's work ing :-D
thanks ever so much!

now, just one annoyance left - the nokia prompts to accect the connection everytime. I'd prefer my phone to live in my bag and not be touched - any ideas how to stop the prompting?

and a question: am i being charged by the minute, or by the kilobyte when doing dialup?

I would have thought there would be a way to put the Nokia into a 'trusted' mode so it doesn't prompt you every time.

Are you connecting using #777 - mobile@jamamobile? If so you are now in CDMA packet mode. If you didn't sign up on a data plan you will be paying casual rate of $8.00 p/meg.

Now, i've got it dialing from contacts, i've got it providing an internet connection
the last thing i haven't got working is sending and recieving sms.
i've been using agendus mail with my t39. - I not sure how to set up a phone connection for the 6255. I've tried using all the nokia drivers inthe list, but none work for pulling sms off the phone - i'm getting telephony errors.

Are you on prepaid? If you are it wont work. Other wise try telecom wireless helpdesk, they should know what the stroy is.

Why would the account type have any effect on pulling sms mesages out of the phones memory and into the pda???
