I have never run out of texts before, but this month i have sent a few more texts than usual (i only have 15 left Embarassed). Anyway, i'm on $10 text. But apparantly if i put another $10 on my phone i will only get 50 more texts as they are then charged at 50cents each.

What i was wondering is if there was another way to get more "free" texts when i put more money on my phone?

I don't know about extending your SMS allowance, but standard SMS price is $0.20, not $0.50.

If TXT's where $0.50 each then you would only get 20 for $10.

20c per TXT after 500, otherwise switch to Boost TXT for 2000 Telecom to Telecom messages.

You would have 2000 Telecom to Telecom TXT's for the rest of the month. TXT's to VF cost 20c each. However you can't switch from Boost TXT back to the regular 500 TXT for one month.

Yes, but you can confirm when you call *333 to change your plan, all the details will be relayed to you.

So just to confirm - i do this
1) buy a top up
2) don't send any texts
3) change to boost
4) Get 1950 free texts

If it's only this month, and you think your usage will return to normal, then I'd say the best thing to do would be cut back on texting/pay 20c per text where necessary and suck it up till the end of the month - much easier than switching back and forth between texting plans, and probably cheaper in the long run - if you switch to boost and don't bother to switch back then you'll be paying $10/mth plus 20c for any txting to voda phones.

I suspected as much ;-)

I personally can't stand any of the plans that limit you to one network, but if you don't ever text vodafones then Boost is probably a better option for you anyway. Or pick up the landline/IM/see this 'someone' in person...

changing to Boost Monster text is as simple as dialing *333 then following the voice prompts (2,1,1,2,1 then 1 to confirm)
