Hello,

My younger sibling (13 Years old) decided it would be a great idea to put a security lock on his Samsung m300.
Admittedly it was to keep his younger brother from snooping around hehe :)

The dilemma now is that he has forgotten the security lock, has entered it incorrectly 3 times (I think) and has been locked out of the handset.
He can currently receive calls and only make emergency calls.

He called Telecom and they advised to take it to a retail store, the retail store advised they couldn't assist and that it would need to be sent away.
All for the low low cost of $30.00.

I know when I was younger I found myself in the same situation and Vodafone advised me of my PUK code and all was well.

So there obviously is not a Telecom equivalent?

If anybody could shed some light that would be much apprectiated.

Thanks in advance :)

Yes, there's a PUK code. It's printed on the SIM card holder. On he can call the Telecom Help Desk to get it.

If it has been system locked, their is no other way of unlocking it.

Try using the last 4 digits of the phone number to unlock it.

Take it to a store. Ask them to re-programme the phone to a different number (i.e. 0279991111) and then back to your number. This *should* reset the phone's lock code to the last 4 digits of the phone number.

Failing that, you need to send the phone away to Telegistics (with a $30 fee).

Unfortunately you can't reprogram the M300 when it has been locked, the programming code cannot be entered. So the only way to use it is to pay the $30 and get Telegistics unlock it.
