Telecom has just announced Mobile Jetstream / Mobile Broadband data roaming to Australia price at $8 per megabyte (equivilent to Telecoms domestic casual(ty) rate.)

[edit: it wasnt a price drop, there was no pricing to start with i think. - having a bad hair day]

EXCELLENT! $8 is extremely good, Much cheaper than it is locally over there!!!!

Time to fork out for another harrier to replace my smashed baby :-(

Does anyone know if the Sanyo 4920 is EVDO? (current hackabout phone) I can't seem to find much luck on this.

As far as I am aware, none of the Sanyos on TNZ are capable of tethered data. :-(

Disenchanted: Telecom has just announced Mobile Jetstream / Mobile Broadband data roaming to Australia price at $8 per megabyte.

Now Vodafone should bring on 'One-rate' for data to align this with the one-rate for voice which has been around for a while.

yes, whatever the price, certainty of price is paramount to uptake of these services by a wider range of non-technical customers...

When they first launched GPRS roaming to oz this was the case. It was quite surprising to see this then change to $30 per MB!

ha ha, those were the gool ol' days, no tricks, no "extra's" as you usually discover these days with anything good (like motormouth on account excluding landlines from the included minutes, data roaming being horrendous & I just found out "Video" PXT was $1!!!!, hmmmm..)

In the other hand, there are some things on roaming which work, not as expected! IE, cheaper!

like "free" data roaming on Telecom, $10 TXT used to work, Motormouth was 49c even to a 027 in NZ (all while I was in australia)
