Hey everyone, well - I did what everyone asked - I changed my plan from Big-Time to Adventure in order to test the rate limiting.
Um...
I recieved higher overall speeds on Big-Time for both web browsing AND downloading - and also - Rapidshare is still managed on Adventure Plan and telecom's advanced technical team have now (finally after months of complaints) admitted this to me.
Rapidshare is limited on ALL telecom plans (according to them). I stayed on the Adventure plan for one day before demanding that they change me back - I was ASSURED that I would not be managed on this plan, and I would have stayed on it if that was the case, but since it is not - it seems only valid now to change to Big Time once again until I can find an alternative service provider who can fulfill my needs.

Is rapidshare limited? I know people on Adventure that can hit up to 700KB/s using download managers.

Using IDM download manager, and it's definently limited here taneb1, and they've admitted it too.
I can;t reach anything over 150KB/s

I can 100% confirm there is no limiting at all on any plan other than Big Time

I attached a picture of a test download I did just now and I could hit around 500kb/s. It might be your modem, or line maybe?

"This plan's upload and download speeds are not capped - this means we don't place an artificial cap on the download or upload speed on your plan (unless you go over your monthly data allowance)"

Well freitasm, I've never had any real trust in telecom's so-called 'technical advanced team'. And I have had my modem, line etc checked, and they are both excellent.

The thing is this:
I have people telling me a whole lot of different things - Telecom tell me one thing, people here tell me something else, I don't know what to believe any more.
I mean it's weird, because the other day (before my plan changed over) I was recieving no traffic
management on Big Time during the day, then suddenly it popped back on. Weird..

Well, it states that they do not place an "artificial" cap, but maybe a real one? :-)

I can conform that rapidshare will saturate any connection via a Pro and Business Advanced plan, I get over 1000 KB/sec every day. I would check as to what speed your modem actually syncs at. Your speedtest figures in signature look totally pathetic.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Your line speed is approximately 5749.6 Kbps or 704.6 KB/sec
( Where kb = kilobits and kB = kiloBytes )

mortiis33, have you done some testing inside your own house? Have you been able to confirm there isn't *ANY* problem with your own setup before going outside?

Have you tried unplugging all devices (phone, fax, Sky box) and testing your Internet connection again? Are you using correct filters in the proper places? Are you sure there isn't a filter in front of your modem?

yes I have cone all of those tests, and everything is fine, and the WHOLE internet is fine - speed is flying, EXCEPT Rapidshare.

Do you have a Rapidshare Premium account? If you are just using a free account Rapidshare rate limits downloads at their end.
