I am on holiday and have taken my C510 to tether with my netbook.  Ran this speedtest:

I thought the C510 had a limit of 3.6 mb/s, but I guess it doesn't. My question is: given I am in central Christchurch, and assuming the phone has a max of 7.2mb/s, what is the fastest I am likely to see?  I am purely curious, it is perfectly quick for me!  Any other C510 owners who can shed some light?

It's a class 8 device so has a maximum of 7.2Mbps. 6.5Mbps is about as fast as you will get because you also have to factor in TCP overheads.

It's HSUPA capable as well with a maximum of 2Mbps upstream so 1.65Mbps is fairly typical.

Thanks for that, wasn't sure if it was an error or something! Was going to get a standalone data card, but for the times I am out of wifi the phone is more than capable.
