The organisation I work for is starting to transition our mobiles phones to Telecom.  As part of the contract we are getting the HTC Touch2 Phones but I cannot find any "due' dates on the Telecom website.

Does anyone know when these phones are going to be available through Telecom?

Cheers
Rob

The HTC Touch Pro2 have been available for months. I had one here and is gone already.

Or are you talking about HTC Touch HD2?

I am told told it is the Touch2 - although I have just looked at the HTC NZ site and it is not on the site...

Oh, I see. No, this isn't there - and I am not sure it's coming. I thought the HTC Touch HD2 is about to come here, since it's been just released on a 850MHz version. And the HTC Touch Pro2 which is already out obviously.

Is there a 850/2100 MHz Touch2 version - couldn't see with a quick Google. Interested in timing of availability of HD2 850/2100 MHz because it looks as though it's WM7 compatible but is under exclusive arrangement with Telstra for some time as far as I can see. Not sure i want to take the risk of buying unlocked from Oz and doing the business just to get one ....

Interesting if it is the Touch2. I havent seen an 850/2100 version out yet. Telecom hasnt confirmed whether the HD2 will be made available yet either, though logically it should happen soon, as Telstra has the HD2 at the moment.

@Robz can you confirm with your tech people that it is definitely the Touch2?

I have an HTC Touch2 ... quite a capable device for such a low cost.

Not sure about an 850mhz variant but the HTC website does allude to the fact that variations may exist for specific carriers. If you've been told to expect the Touch2 I wouldn't anticipate a huge wait because the original version has been out since October.

How is your reception on it? Flatmate gets no or 1 bar of XT on his telecom supplied touch 2 - I get 2 bars and it works on a non 850MHz 3g phone in the same place.

none downstairs here, yet other HTC phones get 1 or 2 and will sortof work.

I just brought one last week great little smart phone even if its running windows mobile 6.5 and not 7.0, only thing i found out after i brought it was it does not have a Accelerometer Sensor built in like telecom said it did on the features page on there site, was a feature i was look for so telecom is doing a bit of false advertising . Just telling ya all before someone else buys one looking for that feature .

I have used the phone over the weekend - the call quality has been really clear (I am in the souther suburbs of Wellington) and had no problems syncing data.   Screen quality is good so I can read emails outside.  Battery life seems ok (no better/worse than the HTC Snap) but is varilable depending on how often data sync is set to happen.

The 'soft' querty keypad is OK (taking a little while to get used to) for reponding to texts and email.  The zoom bar across the bottom is good for increasing text size when looking at documents and/or emails.    So far, no gripes over the phone at all.

If there is anything specific you wnat to know aboutlet me know.

Axeman480:it does not have a Accelerometer Sensor

Seems to be fixed now, sure it was just an oversight.
