I have a shiny, new Nexus One and have it up and running on the XT network with the 3G APN working fine. But I can't figure out the MMS APN settings. Has anybody successfully configured MMS on a Nexus One? I've tried the settings on NealR's blog here but the Nexus One has different options. Can anyone help?

I used the settings in this link for my AT&T Samsung to get MMS going.

I am a Android 2.1 user:

Go into Settings --> Wireless and Network Settings --> Mobile Networks --> Access Point Names.
Create a new APN - Call it Telecom NZ MMS
APN: wap.telecom.co.nz
MMSC: http://lsmmsc.xtra.co.nz
MMS Proxy: 210.55.11.73
MMS Port: 80 (or 8080)
MCC: 530
MNC: 01
APN Type: mms

Save that, and give it a wirl. Let me know if it works.

Are you sure about the MNC setting? On mine it defaults to a value of 05 and as soon as I change it to 01 the APN just disappears and I have to re-enter everything.

I believe that it should be 05, but I don't own that specific phone so take that with a grain of salt.

That was based off my Vodafone Settings too, so possibly the case it has to be 05.

Just leave the MMC/MNC etc as their default values.

05 is correct for Telecom, 01 is for Vodafone.

Still no luck. I'm starting to think that receiving MMS is just not possible on the Nexus One. I can send MMS OK, but when I receive an MMS I keep getting "download unsuccessful" errors when clicking on the Download button. Below are the settings I'm using and I've also tried various variations on them. If anybody knows of a Nexus One owner on XT that has MMS working, please let me know.

APN: wap.telecom.co.nz
MMSC: http://lsmmsc.xtra.co.nz
MMS Proxy: 210.55.11.73
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 530
MNC: 05
APN Type: mms

I've also tried 8080 as the port number, and have tried putting the proxy settings in the Proxy and Port fields.

Have you tested you're SIM in a Telecom sourced XT handset to confirm it does receive MMS?

Yes, the SIM is fine - I was using it with an iPhone 3GS and could send/receive MMS without any issues.

Interesting you can send but not receive. Using the settings in the link I posted above I haver the same problem with my Samsung. Can send but i get an error message when I try to receive or retrieve a MMS..
