I'm on holiday at the moment and I expect that I'm going to exceed my 500 MB data allocation with tethering etc. Overage is 10c/MB so I'd rather find something a little cheaper. According to Telecom's site:

You can increase your monthly data even further by using a Mobile Broadband plan to boost the data in your new XT plan - we have 750MB, 2GB and 4GB plans to choose from. You canBuy Boosts & Extras online to add any of these to your new XT plan.

An extra 750 MB sounds good so I follow the link to http://www.telecom.co.nz/mobile/yourmobile/manageextras, select Text and Data, and verify my number. It then lets me change my text plan but states that "No Data Boosts are available for your Smartphone mobile plan."

Is this a site issue or am I doing something wrong? What should I do to temporarily (just for this month) add the 750 MB mobile broadband plan to my postpaid account?

Thanks :)

Edit: I just tried *333 which gives me an option (number 3) to change my text or data plans. However, after pressing 3 it only gives me text options.

You can't add the 750MB Mobile Broadband plan to your Smartphone Plan. You can, but the 750MB Plan would override your Included 500MB, And you would pay the $30 for the 750MB on top of your Smartphone $40 plan rental, So not exactly worth while.

Same applies to the 2GB and 4GB Plans, you can add them at full price but will override your existing 500MB data from your Smartphone plan, So can be expensive

Why not change your plan to the Smartphone $60 Plan for a Month which would give you 1GB data?

EDIT: Typo

Is "because I didn't think of it" a valid answer? :P

Thanks for the suggestion, it looks like a good idea!
