Heads-up to all Telecom Static IP users
We got a letter today from Telecom.
Apparently they had identified our static ip address as 'inactive' and wanted to remove it - there is a an online form that had to be completed by 16 January if we wanted to keep the address.
But the address is far from inactive - its our main buisness gateway.
Their website form isnt the world's best - with many required fields, some of which took some digging to find the data - but its sorted now.
Thing is that I'm on holiday now, until late Jan. If I hadn't come into the office on an off-chance, I wouldn't have seen the letter and our business email and remote services would have been shot down.
Not good Telecom - quite apart from the misidentification, the time frame to respond is way too short at this time of year. I also suspect that this would be the only warning you get
So, all you static ip users - go check your snail mail
