Hi guys

I am trying to text my friends who use 027 from Skype (on the web) but they don't seem to be going through at all.

It works perfectly fine with 021 and 022 numbers but any 027 numbers just wont send to.

Anyone know how to solve this, I contacted Skype but they said it will be an issue with the carrier (Telecom) as other carriers in NZ are working fine.

Would be great if there is a work around :)

There is a thread in the Telecom forum about this. It seems that Telecom blocks overseas SMS providers with a NZ cell fone as the CLID as they don't get any revenue from it..

Do you know the thread by any chance?

I wonder if there is a way around it to fake the overseas number or else not display the NZ number here (send it from Skype id instead of number)

It's an old discussion. No need to look for it - as said, Telecom blocks incoming SMS from overseas services that show a NZ number in the sender id.

Dumb, and protecting their SMS partners. People can't create a decent SMS service now, due to the cost barrier.
