I signed up on Monday night, have heard nothing, BB Helpdesk in Manila are useless, 123 in Manila even worse, they said it was a "special promo" not yet available. The rep offered to transfer me to someone to discuss it, and I was promptly disconnected. Can't be bothered going through all that again.

If i were to change over from another ISP, would I use that form? Or do I just sign up to telecom first with an available plan then use that form to change over.

Cheers

It's really hard to get onto this plan, you might want to write out a callback form, and tell them you're a new customer. chances are slim though.. I had to write about 2-3 forms & call up several times.. lucky i got a good rep (who originally didn't know about this plan till i gave him a link) & thankfully helped me out in his limited position, next call i had to wait for a few mins to find my 'form' & they took several mins to put it through their system.. on the date set i didn't get the plan, kept nagging for 2 more nights, then it finally took place (when they said there was a problem, wait till tomorrow) .. if you're unlucky you'll get a bad rep like quikymart & they'll simply disconnect you.. better to wait till early next year if you're patient. 80gb feels more carefree & less worrying about maintaining bandwidth.

I found out that the free NZ calling doesn't come with this plan, so it doesn't work so well for me now anyway.

Hi i was looking at changing to this plan and was wondering if the Wire Maintenance contract is included in the price or if it is additional? Also i have calling with telecom but broadband with another isp. Ive filled out the online form register your interest. Will i hear back from them or do i have to wait till the new year when the plan launches?

Wiring maintenance is always additional and optional (ie: you can opt out of it).

My sign up experience is relatively pleasant.

Called 123 last Wednesday, told the robot I wanted broadband sales. The first person transferred me to a second person, who transferred me to a third person. I told him I would like to know about the Total Home Broadband. He said you want the Total Home? I said no, Total Home Broadband. He said he knew exactly what I am talking about, but he is not in that team and could not do it. He promised to call back the next day.

Thursday another person called me, she told me the details about THB, but said she could not sign me up. She promised to call back the next day.

Friday another guy called me, took my details and promised it to be connected Tuesday afternoon.

Today (Tuesday) it was connected in the morning.

So although it took 3 days and 5 operators, it did go smoothly, everything was done when they promised.

Apparently they have been swamped with application forms, hence the delays in responding and activating the plan. I too just signed-up, so see how it goes!

Interesting to learn from my call that many of the FoH staff haven't been trained in the product yet, due to its pending release to New Users come Feb 2011. I explained that it is available online, even though if you follow the links from the homepage you can't actually access the THB page and application form.

Does this plan have any deal with the doubling of your data for the first few months? If you are on the double your data because you have recently joined another plan, will that carry over if changing to this to get 160 a month for however many are left?

Talkiet:
DarkShadow: How is the quality on this plan? Any slowdowns at peak time?

The quality will be the same as if you were to sign up for any other Telecom Retail offered ADSL broadband plan... In short, excellent.

My first day impression of the service is that yes, Telecom is very good. Smile

Thankyou sir - always nice to see a positive bit of feedback... Enjoy the service!

It was all good up until today when the bill arrived.
Was charged previous broadband plan up to 18/12 + new total broadband from 1/12 to 31/12 + also total broadband from 1/1/11 to 31/1/11, which all ended up at around $245 instead of our usual $120.

Might be a few annoyed people when the first bill arrives :(

Are you sure, i have changed plans plenty of times with telecom and i always just get charged for the most expensive plan i used that month??

Maybe it is different for total home - but mine better not be like that as i changed 3 days after the start of a new billing month.
