Well i finally got a call back yesterday from the helpdesk (well outiside the advised 48 hours) and a lady set me all up over the phone (not sure why when i had already filled out the form) and said it would be done over night.

Well guess what, it has not been. Starting to give up -_-

People need to practice some form of reasoned patience.

I filled mine out twice before it happened but the reason I didn't toss my toys is because
a: its not available to the general public
b: I am lucky to be getting it and saving money

There seems to be an expectation that is possibly a little unrealistic that everyone will be cut over instantly and their bum will smell of peaches (well mine does)

Well just to clarify i have not tossed my toys, in fact i have been exploring all avenues of recourse before doing anything of that nature. My expectations are based on what is going on for everyone else applying for the plan and promises being made when helpdesks contacted.

I believe your point regarding it being avaiable to the general public is moot because according to the people in this thread, the general public, it is and freely available and being provisioned.

I don't think i am being impatient when its now 2 weeks since i have applied and lots of other people are moving across. I don't believe you havin to apply twice is acceptable, as i also got the feeling during my phonecall to the CSR i was applying again. What is the point of an online form if it goes nowhere or does not get actioned ?

Hell if i could just get a date that Telecom would meet and stop having to follow up that would be handy. However its either no response, or a "tomorrow" which never comes.

Rereading the thread, poor communication (call backs, email confirmation etc) appears to be a theme throughout this and is hopefully something Telecom will be working on "for when its available to the general public".

I filled the form out last Thursday, received an email to say it would be actioned by 12am on Saturday and found it was all going on Friday afternoon.

Result.

I am sorry for your experience, if you are still unchanged I would suggest applying again via the form, even if it is morally reprehensible people do make mistakes and jobs do get missed.

The plan should be available through normal avenues shortly so all going according to plan you can call 123, say "New Connection" and they will know what you are talking about. (After Feb begins would be a good time).

Been on the new plan since before Christmas, but noticed that because of the amount of ppl in the house we are hitting our cap too early each month. Does anyone know if its possible to change from a capped plan to a overage plan yet?

I know its normally not a problem, but have heard afew say there is issues at present as the plans are not officially released.

i'm on the 60gb plan, is bliss.

I reckon i probably only need 40gb, but, now i can do anything without worrying about exceeding cap .

[edit] just about to download new itunes to all my pc's - and i don't even have to worry about downloading from the website, i can just use itunes auto update on all pc's , don't care about the bandwidth woohoo.

Rang Telecom last night at approx 7pm and after waiting on the phone for around 25 mins listening to some pretty cool New Zealand music I got one of the staff.
I informed them I wished to change to one of their new plans. I also changed from my existing "Favourite Places" $10 per month add-on to the "Talk Downunder" one for only $9 per month more giving me calls to any NZ and Aus number free for up to 2 hours...

Anyway, the point of this reply (since the thread has others sharing experiences of arranging the new plan) is to say that despite the Telecom staffer saying there could be a delay of 24 hours by midnight last night my usage meter was showing the new 80gig amount equivalent to the new plan I selected.

Took approx 4.5 to 5 hours to switch from my existing Telecom plan (Business Advanved 60gig) to the new Total Home Broadband package I selected...

I can only hope many others get the same pleasurable experience I did!

I rang up yesterday morning, did have to wait for 10 minutes but I suspect that was due to being the morning after all the TV ads.

Really helpful, friendly CSR helped me move everything back from Orcon.

Took the 60GB Cap, was offered interleaving on or off (which is cool) and the choice of overuse charge or slowdown.

All in all an easy experience, hopefully being swapped over tomorrow morning.

Fingers crossed speeds are what they were on Telecom before I tried Orcon.

Just a general thanks guys, for the positive notes on the experience now the product has been fully launched internally and the CSRs have had the training and are aware of the product and processes.

Cheers - N
