kram9: Hi Snnet, you're not the only one who is confused. It was only 6 weeks ago that I was told by a Telcom staffer to use smtp.xtra.co.nz. Prior to that I had been happily sending e-mails via my own ISP's ESMTP server, and having no problems. My conspirancy theory antenna are up though in that perhaps today's "outage" is a way of catching stragglers and forcing them to use send. instead of smtp.
garvani: have you tried using send.xtra.co.nz instead of smtp.xtra.co.nz? with SSL port 465 and authentication on?
It worked for 2 of my clients i tried it with, and i posted it here a few hours ago but havn't had any of you reply if its working?
Allanhall: Yeah it seems that telecom? blocks port 25? ( yeah it seems they really want to take us out.)? for our servers outbound mail, so we are asking our host to open another port for us.
plambrechtsen: If people are still having problems please make sure you do log a call with the Broadband helpdesk on 0800 225 598. From internal reports things are looking better but I would still like to know if customers are having issues.
snnet: lol on another note, it is curious that they didn't simply migrate send. to smtp. if that was what everyone was using......................................
