I put a block in place on these SMS today for Vodafone NZ subs around 10:30am and contacted the overseas provider they are routing thru,

The scammers are still trying to route these SMS and it must be doing there head in why it's not working

Received one of these a few days ago from +18324654957.

Any idea how they they got hold of our numbers? Or was it more of a "try send to random combinations of NZ numbers" approach..

Thanks, that's good to know. Was trying to think what I had recently signed up to that might have been the cause. It would be a nightmare getting regular SMS spam!

This was just spamming number ranges! I sat here and watched it for a while

I got one of these a week go as well which I promptly deleted.  Good to know that it's sending to random numbers and it wasn't anything I'd given my number to cause I don't just randomly give my number out.

Good on ya John
I got one of those NZ Winner > apple sms messages this morning on my vodafone cellphone
Was quite surprised because i have never had sms spam before.

Edit: Your comment of watching the messages coming through reminded me of trying to figure out who on my network has been infected with the conficker virus.
