DjShadow: I went to ring a client this morning on their mobile and got a nice message saying the call can not be connected due to them being on the old CDMA network which has closed

Haha seriously?

You'd think people would have learned given the amount of constant nagging they should have been getting over the past year or so. It got everyone i know off fairly quickly.

Lol yes Seriously, guess some ppl out there totally oblivious to the network shut down (imagine what will happen when Analogue tv goes!)

Be good if Telecom had a grace period where ppl could still rescue their number onto an XT sim but don't think they are doing that.

No guarantees but if it was still available (which it should be) then it should be able to be moved onto a XT Sim.

Your old CDMA number
If you didn’t switch before 31 July 2012 and would like to stay with Telecom and keep your old number then give us a call on 123 or go in store and we can see if your old number is available.

I don't however think you can port it to another provider as the number is now a disconnected number and from memory there is a grace period of 6 weeks (? could be wrong here) where in-ported numbers are held by Telecom before they are returned back to their Donor Carrier (ie the Carrier that "owns" the number range ie 021 for Voda and 022 for 2D)

Kinda reminds me of the give way rule changes earlier this year. Even after all the publicity with that, some people claimed to be unaware of the change. Sheesh!
