old3eyes: Thanx Ned and Ron,

Will get one when I get back to Auckland. It would have been handy this week rather than running a Tstick

I'm pretty sure I've got one at my desk if you wanted to try one out?

I have tried all different devices with the poorly functioning hotspot. 3 different phones, some smart some "unsmart", 2 different laptops running different operating systems. Samsung Note. All the same result.

I'm considering getting a Telecom Huawei E5520 for use when on holiday

The only reason I am considering getting it is because it can done 21Mbps [for $99] as a handset for the same cost will only do 7.2Mbps

Obviously the advantage of the handset is that it can also be used as a backup phone etc.

Does anyone get more than 7.2Mbps from their mobile hotspots otherwise I may as well just use a handset as a hotspot
