Hi,

My actual sync speed have dropped from 21850 to 14800. There has been no change at all to the attenuation.
My speedtest results are actually less than the sync speed

Yep, that's perfectly normal. Should be about 80-85% under ideal conditions.

Without seeing a bitloading graph it's hard to give accurate information, but with attenuation like that and a sudden sync rate drop it would suggest that your line is better suited to interleaving being on, even with 8ms rather than 16ms. Interleaving exists to serve a purpose, and not everybody is going to be able to have interleaving off as crosstalk is a major issue in the copper world.

Is it not unusual that crosstalk would suddenly occur after the line being stable for 5 years and consistently maintaining the same line attenuation?

No. But it also depends what your interleaving settings were before - 0, 8 or 16ms. From your results it's clear that interleaving off probably isn't ideal for your line.

It certainly does seem that Telecom plan changes are causing profiles to be reset.

The issue is definately between your modem and the ISAM - it's not a Telecom issue. The fact it happened at the same time as a plan change would indicate that it's an ISAM profile change that caused it.

Remember there is also FIPD to BBA migration. In the case of FIPD to EUBA from a Basic copper profile to Enhanced copper profile.

I used to sync for some time at 21mb sincne the cabinet was upgraded but after the last fault was fixed its now o more than 17 however it just seems to perform much better than it was at 21. Dont think i have a master splitter. My attenuation is 3db down and 2db up.

My concern is that been on a 500Gig plan, I am now in a high usage pool like the good old Big Time plan, or somehow my speed is being artificially throttled.

I see others have pointed out some possible issues, and you've decided to sign up for VDSL - that's fine, but for the sake of accuracy and anyone else reading this.

Customers on the 500G plan are treated no differently than Telecom retail customers on other plans. There is no 'artificial throttling' of any Telecom Retail customers (Unless they have gone overcap AND have elected to be slowed to pseudo-dialup speed)

16dB attenuation is too high for VDSL2.

You may be able to sneak under if your wiring is causing a spike in attenuation and a master filter brings it down, but at the end of the day a master filter or rewiring for a single jackpoint is mandatory for VDSL anyway.
