Some firewalls can use domain names for the lookup. How many have u got?

TBH I think it would be quite hard to for any provider to have IPs switch across fibrexDSL. Why not just use both?

Nope that's a pretty seamless process, switch off the old DSL modem and switch on the RGW and you should be away.  The backend BNG is the same box for both subscriber types, the subscriber management stack however is radically changing but will have no impact on the customers.  So migrating from ADSL Static IP Address to UFB Static IP Address is one of the numerous test cases that has been tested.

Yeah i would have thought the same pppoa/oe account could be used and the ip address would automatically move too.

Telecom don't use PPPoE/A username/password auth.  All our auth is based on Network handover from Chorus injecting the network identifier of the line via Remote ID, Circuit ID and the SVID/CVID from the 802.11aq QinQ that come in over the network.
The old stack still uses Username & Password for Static IP but the vast majority of customers are no longer on that stack from being moved.

Lots of major things happening in the subscriber management stack, all of which the customers will never see.

We've had the same IP for the last nine years, so there's a fair few :)

Don't want to keep both, would prefer to swap the IP if it's possible.
