Was pretty annoying when metroinfo.org.nz was "down" for about a week. At that time I tried free dns services (google 8.8.8.8), and got the IP from elsewhere and tried it. Nothing worked so I assumed not DNS, routing maybe.
Response I got from telecom was (cutting out the pleasantries) "I checked that domain and we don't host the domain so there's nothing worry on our side. That domain is with Snap so you will need to contact them."
Kinda poor given, as I pointed out, it only wasn't working on telecom connections; so it would have to be between them and snap i.e. it damn well IS their problem >_<. I pay them for access to the internet, so I should be able to access websites that are actually up and running. Didn't follow it up through, since by the time they got back to me a few days later it'd been fixed... despite faults claims of "We will attempt to address your query within the next 4 working hours."

('Faults' might not the the right department, but through the website I had the email choices of 'faults' or 'feedback', given that it's a fault what choice did I really have? Perhaps telecom should work on their online customer interface...)

Wow, didn't mean this to be a rant.
