Re-read the above reply. No I am in Christchurch, so coffeebaron can't help (unless he flys? xD). The radio is really weird. I just tried it now. If I unplug the phone filter (the bottom one in my first photo), the radio comes on over my PC speakers (Logitech 530). If I turn off the speakers, the radio stops. If I leave the speakers on, but have the filter plugged in, the radio stops. Apparently when you are talking to somebody without the filter, you can also hear the radio on the phone, although I have not witnessed this myself.

(Also if you take the filters off, the old phones (not handsfree) ring, with the filters plugged in, they don't.

It sounds like some of your phone wiring is still the old 3 wire, not 2 wire. Best practise is to replace all the phone jacks with 2 wire jacks that have an integrated ringer capacitor.

Here are my other two existing jack-points:

As you can see the last jack seems to have a capacitor? But it has three wires?
The top one doesn't seem to have a capacitor, and has three wires?

I'd get a new splitter and wire at the black lead in cable before it hits the white box and beige cable. Run a new feed from here to the xDSL jack-point.

So basically you guys are saying get better equipment and my speed should increase? Looking at the graph I should be getting 20Mbits (roughly), and that is all to do with a small amount of cable, or do I have bigger problems - should I be talking to telecom?

Hi, it appears you already have a master filter installed, albeit a ADSL2+ only capable one but it can provide full ADSL2+ speeds (ie around 20Mb/s), but I see some cabling from the ETP that is true rip, thats the heavy black stuff, which I presume comes in from the street pole. This is not good.

If it were me I would be looking at replacing that and removing any cabling that is not cat5e or better in the DSL path.
