Evinta: Ok understood.

Is it allowed if i ask if samsung released some software updates? i looked on their website and i can't find the phone anywhere.

Yes there is new firmware out. A Telecom store can send your phone away for this update. Didnt fix my texting issues at all. It also turns SIM lock back on, and changes the code for unlocking the SIM.

Hi All. I am also after this"code". I managed to get my hands on the old "code" before telecom changed it recently. Can anybody help with this, if so email me, I am prepared to pay for it!

Just a side issue to the above postings, there is a network fault relating to this phone where it can not send or receive photo messages. I just spoke to Telecom faults about this as the mother-in-law just purchased this phone and had this problem, they at this stage don't have a resolution of fixing the problem.

This is a completely new topic. No replies are to be posted to this post, unless its in a new thread (about Reprogramming a Telecom Mobile for porting).

You need to phone 0800323232 or *123 or 123 and ask them to walk you through reprogramming it, or take it to any Telecom mobile dealer.

Service programming codes may not be publicised on the forums (its too easy to 'brick' your phone, or at least render the phone inoperable and needing a firmware flash).

actually what i was doing was brerating myself for being muppet and I should have unlocked the sim bit at the time I had the service menu open instead of thinking I could close it and open it again afterwards.  Which as it turns out I cannot since I must have written something down wrong.

I am a numpty!

anyone with the new unlock code care to get in touch so I can unlock my w531 for the 2nd time

Actully the code you enter to reprogramme or "nam" the phone is diffrent from the code to unlock the sim. Even if you got into the meny to repogramme the phone again you wouldnt be able to remove the "sim lock"

If you have ZK20 revision (Older software)

When you press "send" on a text then snap the flip shut while it is sending, your message goes into a pending Queue and will be sent the next time you successfully send a message.

The external backlight does not come on when the side keys are pressed (Which i actually prefer as it gets bumped a lot)

The new AD13 software (Newer software)

It removes the queue option, meaning if you snap the slip shut while the phone is still sending, you will simply lose the message or it will save into your outbox if you have that mode enabled.

Pressing the side keys while the dlip is closed activates both display modules and backlight (so you can check the time) but if you bump them a lot, it will just drain your battery.

The Simlock code is different apparently, I really can't be bothered as the dualmode novelty wore off pretty rapidly.

OK.....

LEAVE THE FLIP OPEN WHEN SEDNING AN SMS UNTIL IT SAYS "MESSAGE SENT" then you can snap it shut and forget about it.

Otherwise, you will continue to experience issues.

If you have an a900 or a920 and have bad battery life? Try turning off the "service light" and seeing if batterylife improves :-)

You can use the w531 on vodafone, but first you need to unlock the fone, there are two different codes for doing this, i have the first code for early model w531's but not for the newer models, the old code is [removed]. if anyone knows the new one would they post it for all to see, cheers

There are legal reasons why we won't allow posting codes in the forums... In short, the firmware is licensed to the operator, so it's actually their Intellectual Property.
