No4: I have not tested the TG589 as a router, only in bridge mode. The previous modem was a Draytek V120 in bridge mode and I had the router set up with everything wired too it so put the vdsl modem straight into bridge mode also (She Who Must Be Obeyed was already antsy at the downtime over the switchover as it was). I've read on GZ about others who have used the TG589 in bridge mode without any apparent speed limiting side effect so I would expect that to be the root cause.
BigDreams: I'm on Telecom VDSL and get only around 7mbps down speed. Have been getting 34mbps up until last week. Goes up to 24mbps when someone is using the phone. Bad modem?
No4:Interestingly I could only do this through the lan port that connects to the router - I couldn't connect through any of the other 3 ports.
No4:I've just tested copying a file from my NAS drive to my pc (both connected to the router rather than the switch) which proves that it is locked at 10MBit there also.
