In the app it's by time, in the settings applet it's by battery usage. Screen uses more power per second than any other part of the phone AFAIK. If it's only 15% in settings I'd like to see a screenshot to see what it thinks is using the battery - at the end of the day.

There seems to be a lot of crud on your phone that doesn't even appear on mine. Did you look into the script that removes the crud I posted above?

Strange that the OS is taking so much CPU. Mine is usually way way down. Have you google something like 's3 mini "android os" battery'. It brings up a few interesting discussions, like this one.

also i have disable a number of apps that i dont use and i cant un-install to also save battery, i would not care if i got 3 days but less than 2 is ridiculous and annoying. it is not flat and in need of charge at the end of say day one, but does not make it to the end of day two without needing to go on the charger. either i am needing to charge before it is flat each day, or having to charge half way through the next. would like two whole days or better yet three. i understnad they require more power as we ask more of them than the old dumb phones, and we will never get the old life we used to have but that is a trade off for wanting more from our device. but if the manufacturer can claim something that no one can achive then there has to be something wronmg dont you think. either make a realsitic claim all be it lower than what you want to hear or improve the device or software to live up to the claim. my old huawei gave me 3-4 days...

So return you're phone if you're unhappy with it.

Have you installed Greenify? It works best when it's rooted (which is low risk and easy) but I think it works unrooted now too.

Agree and i think its been said but its a smartphone so expect it won't last as long as the Nokia 3120. I challenge the Op to find anywhere in XDA that a person there complaining about battery life could get 1 1/2 days.

As said if you aren't happy take it back but if you want a smartphone with features at all then expect it won't last for 2 days.

reading back and looking at the rubbish you have running I would has at a guess that it isn't going into deep sleep becay=use some apps are looking for location or trying to sync.

I can't understand why anyone would buy a smartphone and then turn all the "smart" features off. Just charge it when you go to bed.

I can get three days out of my S4, at a push, two easy. That includes probably four hours of streaming music over a VPN enabled Wifi connection, reading for 30 minutes, plus regular facebook, email, calls, txt, etc. I've removed most Samsung bloat, I've rooted, I've installed Greenify, data and wifi are off unless I need them, location services off unless required (you can automate on/off with tasker but I haven't), etc. I use Llama to put the phone into airplane mode at 10pm and come out again at 7am. I have nothing running in the background unless I explicitly want it there and allow it. I Greenify Facebook, Skype, anything that gets woken when network state changes (HEAPS of apps). It's not difficult.

I have a second battery so battery life isn't an issue for me so have most things on except google now and FB and still get nearly 2 days the way I use it.

It was easy to do, phone does what I need with good battery life. She just because, really. Came from a Nokia with week battery life and initially wasn't satisfied.

I have an Telecom S3 mini on Skinny.

I use additional apps that turn off the Wifi and Bluetooth when I am away from the house to save battery.

Removing the phone from the charger at about 7AM, I find that it is down to around 30% left at about 10PM with minimal use. (varies depending on daily use). I consider this as being normal.

When convenient, I put it onto a charging stand during the day for a "boost", just in case I forget to charge it that night or need it for heavy unexpected use later in the day.

I try to put the phone on the charger EVERY night. No problems. I don't expect anything more and don't believe this is unusual for a smart phone. Makes a great bedside clock when charging!
