Im glad I moved my $39 plan over to 2degrees prepaid now. 1.25 gig and then the bonus data as well was just enough on it. But the bonus was running out soon and this is just crap to see it drop down as well.

Really Spark? 2degrees and Skinny one up you and you go and downgrade the $39 one? It was bad enough that it didn't come with Spotify when the $29 prepaid one did. It was bad enough not having (and still not having) rollover data/minutes. Then when we're waiting for new plans, you disappoint. Totally underwhelmed. That Skinny plan has tempted me too much and offers much more, will be ringing the team in the morning to cancel my monthly plan.

If you have to run heating in winter, you don’t own enough computers.

I think they are trying to re-brand their offering.

Premium - Spark
Budget - Skinny
Premium broadband - Spark
Basic broadband - BigPipe

My contract with spark ends in the next month or 2, and i wont be staying with them. I have no intention of paying $39 a month to get what i want when i can get the same if not a better deal on skinny for $26.
Their new plan rejiggng just seems odd to me, the competition has much better value in comparison.

Just as a matter of interest how do you justify a $79 plan unless it's your primary phone and internet access or it's a business account??

I've been accustomed to paying a mobile bill of between $80-120 per month for about 10 years, regardless of the base cost of the plan. Used to be all Vodafone but they lost me with their continuous iPhone launch debacles.

I use a lot of data and I use my phone when I'm out and about just as much as when I'm on WiFi.

To be honest the only thing that would sway me to 2degrees now is the rollover data aspect. On the 8GB plan I could store up a lot of data to use when holidaying around NZ etc..

Even the Spark guy on the phone said himself 'How are we meant to compete' after he couldn't believe some of the competitors plans, specifically the $46 Skinny one. All he could do was offer 500mb for 6 months but as I said, it still isn't rollover like 2degrees and Skinny. He himself said you might be better on the other plans. Come on Spark, even your employees know its a backwards step :/

I just switched from the $39 open term to the $29 smart prepaid plan, the savings thoooooo especially now.

Previously it was 400mins, 1.25GB data and unlimited texts.
Now for $10/mo less (- another $12 something for spotify I already pay for), I get the same data, 150 mins, unlimited spark calling (land and mobile), unlimited texts and spotify premium. This is with the student pack, but if you know a student I think anyone could get this plan so long as you show student ID of some sort.

Why would they decrease that $39 plan? It was only increased not so long ago right?

That's why I compared the old allocations to my new one. Even the old plan was a rip off and it's going to be even more of a rip off for new customers.

Don't get me wrong, I like added value as much as the next guy. I can understand leaving Spark to go to a competitor. Going to a plan that gives you less, with the same provider, because the old plan you were on didn't get an increase in allocation is not the same as moving to a competitor for a better bang for buck.

Hope that all makes sense

But its both? Going for better bang for buck, being pushed away cause instead of an increase to compete they decreased

Not having a go Sam, I hope you see where I'm coming from. I'm not happy with the plan changes either. I'm also on the $39 plan and was looking to find better bang for buck before the latest changes. I'm obviously more looking to change even more with this latest debacle.

Hey I'm peeved I didn't get an increase like other plans too. I just don't see how moving to a different plan is telling Spark you're not happy with them. You're doing exactly what they want you to do.
