I can't understand this mentality of "chasing the latest updates". Droid or Apple, they are all incremental and make little changes to the phones overall usefulness.
People buy "bling", because it is there and they want to feel good. People also want the latest update because that also is not much more than a little "bling" that provides the feel good factor. Manufacturers of tech have known this for years.

netspanner: Dave are you on the wrong Forum? :-) Geeks by their nature like new technology. Besides, as new tech is invariably better than old tech its a natural progression that everyone should desire. Want better battery life, faster processors, better operating systems? Then an upgrade is what you need. Besides I want it so I can better program the next generation of apps.
