Can anyone tell me how I can check when the disconnections are occurring, like a log or something?
(Apart from noting the time when browsing etc)
Many thanks
There is an app called "Internet Connectivity Monitor V1.41. It runs in the background and pings at a frequency you set. It tells you when you are connected and keeps a log of disconnection.

Still getting issues with fibre connection hanging... typically get a DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_BAD_CONFIG message in Chrome - probably 2-3 times a day. Have narrowed it down to wifi connections only, and speaking with Spark support they tell me it's wifi interference that will be causing the issue. However this was not a problem when working with VDSL previously!! Modem has always been in the same spot in the house, whether fibre (HG659b) or VDSL (HG630b). Anyone know if the fibre modem is worse than the VDSL one in this regard??
I'm also going to have a go at moving the modem around a bit and see if there's a spot that seems better. Pretty annoying as it's intermittent and hard to pin down what's wrong.
I kept having issues with the Spark-supplied router Huawei HG659b. It kept hanging and the wifi range was shocking. I finally replaced it with an ASUS RT87U AC2400 Router and since then I have had no drop outs and the range for wifi has been so much better I have been able to remove extenders and speeds all around the house are excellent. OK an expensive solution but frankly the Spark router is a dead loss.
If it disconnects every 4 hours on the dot then it's because the Spark provisioning hasn't been completed. You would also notice that you may not get the full speed you expect when running a speed test for the same reason. So use online chat and say that your Fibre provisioning isn't complete and they need to close off the open service request.
