Congrats!
I won a spot prize of a Chromecast, didn't even realise I entered this competition tbh, people must've just been using my link (It's quite easy to get people to sign up to such a great ISP).

I wonder how effective this referral program is compared to traditional advertising. I think more companies should adopt it.

Yeah, No more for you for a while I think :P

Do you think you will use the smart tv features? Or just the chromecast to watch stuff, or do you have a PC/Other box connected

Do you plan on putting the cables behind the wall

I won a Chromecast too, haven't heard back since I replied with an address though.

The referal thing has been in use by ISPs for quite a while. Xnet used to offer referral credit (although I think it was only for the referer), and slingshot offers credit for both parties ($50 too AFAIK.)

Since I rent my current house (saving to buy a house) I can't go drilling any more holes :) my landlord was nice enough to install a wall mount for my TV before I moved in after I asked him about it.

The cables are not too bad, there is now just one for freeview, HDMI to PS4 / Soundbar, USB power for the Chromecast and power for the TV. The smart TV features are rather slow so to be honest I'd stick to the Chromecast however my sister was watching Netflix by the TV app before which worked fine.

We've got a similar model Panasonic TV with the Firefox OS. I actually really like it the interface (nice and clean), but more to the point, Mrs MDF (the non technical part of our household partnership) really likes it. I couldn't find a TV that had all the apps we wanted to use so decided to go with the simple web browser option - everything runs inside a browser. Mrs MDF is perfectly happy navigating that familiar interface with a wireless keyboard+trackpad.

:-)

I'm sure he would be happy to swap some popcorn for a TV. In fact, I'm happy to swap some popcorn for a TV. I'll even include  a selection of candy, caramel, butter and plain. Just let me know where to pick up the TV from :-)

Congrats!

I was one of the referrals :)

It is a cool system actually, I have already had 3 referrals which paid for my fixed IP charge!
