Even at a higher price could the Spark LTE network cope with data caps of say 500gig?

Firebreaker:

PhantomNVD: I'd suggest measuring your RL downloading and see if you really need 500gb. I stream 2-3hours NF a day in a mix of 720p and 1080p (kids cartoons on low) and happily survive on 100gb. Admittedly I save about 20gb/month on updating apps on the iPhone and iPad by doing them at the work on their unlimited fibre link, but still... well within your $200 target even with a second or third 100gb pack.

Try it! You'll love the speed and test your real world ability

I actually live with my parents atm since I'm 18 and I have my brother and two cousins PLUS my grand parents living all in one house. When you have 4 teenagers in the house, the internet usage typically skyrockets.

My parents are considering paying for 200GB and me and my cousin splitting the cost of the last 100GB to hit 300GB total, maybe that'll be enough?

That will get a bit easier from today now that the price for the 100GB has dropped from $65 to $52

While I appreciate the decrease in cost, can I possibly be refunded the difference? I just got the plan on the 19th and I would have waited had I known this was going to happen.

No worries if that's not possible either!

Slightly annoyed here, but also happy with the change.

I am a current Skinny customer and have been since Feb/March. I had no idea there was a 100GB plan, last month I applied 2 x 60GB bundles as I had a lot of downloading to do.

I have now changed to the new plan (with 17GB left, and by the by the 17gb is still there) but I didn't get an e-mail or any notification of the new plan becoming available, I even completed the survey last month :(

Over all a positive change, $3 less for 40gb more is a nice touch but maybe better treatment for your customers, especially ones who are touting how great your service is?

PhantomNVD: Well, since it really is pay as you go, just renew your data packs each time they run out and see if you'd actually USE 500gb regularly? The months you do would cost more than your $200 budget, but any months less would save your 'unused'/unspent extra and likely cover it?

What exactly do you need 500gb for?

This actually makes a lot of sense. Renew weekly if needed, you'll ALWAYS use your data and each renewal adds the further 7 days. It is super easy to do, literally takes about 10 seconds when you have registered a credit card.

How often are you actually reaching your cap? If you aren't and actually uses more live 3-400GB a month you are on a winner $156 - $208 per month, if you peak out at the 500GB then $260.

All in all it looks like Skinny can offer you pretty much what you want!

BTW I just added a 100GB to my left over 17GB and have retained the 17GB so this month I have 117GB, time to download the Steam games I have been holding off on!

Yeah the price drop has made me a very happy camper.

But we've used an average of 4.5 GB and its only been 3 days and this is just the TV using that much data as my dad has banned everyone in the house from using the Skinny broadband for the first month.

I also do appreciate the price drop.

Although I just signed up last night (8.30pm) for the $65 plan and still to receive my modem.

I called up Skinny this morning and was told they couldn't refund the difference - a bit harsh as it hasn't even been 24 hours since I signed up and no modem yet.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

That's definitely unfair.

Agree!

BUT, I had the same issue signing up a month before the $199 router became $99 and I guess it's basically just a case of where they could/should draw the line, as someone will always marginally miss ANY line they draw.

TBH, we signed a contract we agreed with at the time so, no comeback really?

Stoked it's dropped to only a fraction more than I was paying for the 60gb though!! 😁

Got my modem on Tuesday, 23rd Aug, setup was smooth and easy. Getting 5 bars, 39/42 DL/UL speeds.

Thanks to LivingSkinny for sorting my account, much appreciated.

Airfares just the same.     If you buy a ticket way early you might have the best deal for that date or maybe not.
