The server you are currently streaming from is shown beside Stream Host in Stats for Nerds box (right click on the player):

Then you can decode the 'stream host' string after the sn- (server name) as follows
(or just remember the string that corresponds to your ISP/location)

  •

    0123456789abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz (encoded)

    uzpkfa50vqlgb61wrmhc72xsnid83ytoje94 (plain)

r1---sn-ntqe7n7l --> ntqe7n7l --> syd10s02
r2---sn-a5meknee --> a5meknee --> lax17s11
r6---sn-8vq54voxo1-53as --> 8vq54voxo1-53as --> vodafonenz-akl3
r1---sn-uo1-53as --> uo1-53as --> tnz-akl3

WTF! Awesome :-) Thanks - I knew it was a unique identifier but wasn't aware it was a simple encoding of the node name...

Based on Yitz's info above - If you experience playback interruptions etc and you've checked it's not another issue (uploading / bad line / DNS / wifi / browser etc etc etc) then please check the stats for nerds and post the stream host to me. I'll check if it's one of ours. It would be pretty easy for you to check yourself as well - they follow a pretty easy to identify naming scheme.

Cheers - N

Would that be 2degrees? I only really youtube on the TV, and it has been aweful on my 2degrees connection, stopping with  loading for many seconds and then reverting to 720 or worse and doing that catch up glitchey playback. Rewinding it and playing the same thing again was usually faultless.

Changed it to use my bigpipe connection that I normally only use for torrents and seedbox syncing and was much better all last night.

Vodafone actually, which is why i pointed it out... it has the feeling of being an upstream thing.
