And gone is the free wifi to 3 devices (only one now). They seem to be getting rid of all sorts of perks. Wonder why
Last i heard this was still 5?.. i'll have to check that one...
Movie tickets notification went out a little while ago, is rather sad to see it go for many.

Last time I went to the movies I used the spark promo, found out visa were also doing a promo for $11.20 tickets ($10 plus the booking fee) with a free icecream per ticket. So got the tickets using the visa promo and the popcorn / drink using the spark promo. Had a happy girlfriend and wallet :p
From where I am theres two cinemas near by (Event Westcity - its a dump but oh well & Reading New Lynn - its nice but the GF doesnt like it!) that charge $8.50 and $10 respectively so I guess I'll frequent them more often!
Spark's deal waiving the $1.20 per ticket booking fee was a nice touch.
At least the V/MC promotions are running, albeit on specific days unlike the Spark promotion.

The voucher email said: You can use this code on up to 3 devices, with a daily cap of up to 1GB per device, so feel free to share with your family.
But this was actually wrong, as it's been changed to 1.
I'm a broadband customer, not mobile, if that makes a difference.
hm, your right. Will look into at the very least the inconsistency.

I wonder how long lightbox has got as a free addon, especially with netflix also now being offer. I am a bit surprised they are getting rid of $11 movies, because don't vodafone do a similar deal?
They will keep Lightbox as a perk I think, because it's their own service and hardly anyone would subscribe to it if they didn't offer it for free.
Here in Christchurch there is a real pricing war going on with the cinemas.
Basically, Reading Cinemas has one location in Christchurch, at The Palms mall which was always known as the cheap cinema. Tickets up until last year were $10, then they raised the price to $11. Then after all of these years Hoyts decided to drop their prices to $11. In return Reading dropped theirs to $8.50.. And guess what.. Hoyts is now also $8.50.. It's crazy.
They're probably covering it by increasing popcorn prices or something.
Sam91:
Minimum of 4 tickets at a time no thanks
This sucks. Without it, tickets cost $18.50 plus $1.20 online booking fee.
That's $19.70 for one person just for going to a movie? No thanks. Far too expensive.

Sure you have to buy 4 tickets at once, but if you're going with someone it's not too bad. Pretty much 2 for 1 based on your prices above.
I'm a sad sack who usually goes alone....

That cheap?? Wow. Sensible price at last.
Of course, Tuesdays are still cheaper.
If you go on a Tuesday it will cost you $12.50 for an Adult which is only $1.50 more than the Spark pass.
Event show $11.20 (inc booking fee) for Tuesday at the moment, so with MC Wednesday's at $12.20 (inc booking fee) and the movie of the week for $10.20 (inc booking fee) there are still plenty of choices.
I've only just received the email notification that the Spark movie promo is being cancelled. I'll reserve judgement on the new "music focus" until I see the details, however I'd rather have other options especially given I receive this via my business mobile sub.

I looked up website both cinemas, they both had $11 7 days a week.
Then hoyts adds extra for extreme screen. I use to buy 5 vouchers for $55 and 9 months to use which included extreme screen, couldn't find super saver on their web site only gift cards now? I'll have a look next time I'm at Riccarton.
How do you get $8.50 price?
Edit, for hoyts link select riccarton, then hit save link. Hopefully price comes up then, deleted cookies and found it didn't go to price screen straight away.
They make it hard to find prices for some reason.
