Downstream will probably be fine, but at close to 1.5km from cabinet, upstream could suffer. Will be an interesting one to watch.

Thanks hio77, that would be useful. Even adsl, say 20/1, would be more usable than what I've had the last 7 weeks.

My situation is similar to the first posting. Started off with great Spark Wireless connected to the Foxton Water Tower.

I have had the service for over a year and started to experience constant disconnections, speed not the issue.

Hours and hours have been spent with Spark on phone. New modem, had my house connections and wires checked by data company but still

the disconnections continue every day. I have a case manager .... away on holiday until 23/12/2017.

However last week another tech has told me that there are just too many people giving advice on my case. The truth according to the anonymous tech

(could not understand his name name) is that the Foxton Tower is over subscribed and the disconnections are because telephones have a priority over

Wireless Broadband, hence I am disconnected several times a day.

There is no quick fix .... unless I purchase a tablet with a sim card or go back to ADSL ... of course it was Spark that convinced me to drop ADSL and

go Spark Wireless, now it looks as if they have convinced a lot of people that wireless is best and I believe that I am a casualty of over subscribing.

I am 70 years of age and do not think that I am getting a good deal .... the only consistency with Spark is the Bill!

Thanks for the warning tedzart. I had been trying to get wireless at the beach but had problems with the address check changing its mind whether we could get service. At one stage neighbours on 3 of our boundaries could get it but not us. Now I note that none of the neighbouring houses qualify yet wireless is still available to houses closer to the tower. If the cell is congested why should any extra fixed connections take place?

Very likely your location is on the edge of a congested sector.

DM me the address and i'll do some deeper checks for ya.

OP's issue is still being looked into (be it too late for him, network still should be preforming well), as will any other issues, however i'd say others having the 'same' issue will need to be treated separately.

I really never saw much logic from the answers I received going right back to the Kaikoura /Wellington Quake when

a Spark tech suggested that the Foxton Tower may have been damaged and that was the problem.

Very little has been in writing to me via email except case number & case contact (on holiday) ... I stress email because I find it difficult to

understand fully what is said over the phone.

I only repeat what I am told and am always confused after going through Manila.

Reporting tools used by mobile carriers can easily tell how congested a site is at peak time and off-peak time also spit out graphs and see when traffic starts to climb and ease off again.

digging into this, have asked for a few extra details.

To quantify the comments regarding congestion though for those following , Tedzart is on the edge of two sectors, one congested (with upgrades planned to resolve this) and one that is still in the acceptable range.

On my personal end, I'll be down in fielding over Christmas, May look to travel down to Foxton for a visit of the area.

So the sector pointing towards the most houses will be the one that is congested :)

From a much earlier post on ADSL I "think" l know roughly where tezart is. Is the congested sector the one pointing to the beach? What would the upgrade entail? A Spark outlet told me it would need another cell site. That interests me more from the point of phone coverage. It's a lot easier to compensate for coverage with a fixed modem.

Upgrade would not be a complete new site but adding I suspect a new 4G band to it

So if the site only has band28 go and add band3 to take load off band28
