kapitikarl: Would be happy with 500gb. Given games are averaging 40gb nowadays and I will have a gob load of video data to upload after we move, three poultry 200gb voda offers doesn't really cut it. Plus their customer service is abysmal.

If you're such a high use user (that's 3x the average NZ usage) then you're clearly going to have to adjust to what's available if you're going to move to a location that doesn't have good infrastructure. Expecting to get high speed 500GB 4G plans is a pretty unrealistic expectation right now.

Currently live nr Auckland City centre - moving towards Wainui way. Have done the address thing with most providers, spoke to Spark, had PMs with engineers/employees and the options I mentioned appear to be the only ones.

No it is not unfortunately. Besides, I don't consistently use that much, it is just I have fits and spurts of usage. For example, if I have to do a rebuild or I have a contract to work on, I can easily bust 500GB in a month. So irrespective of what has been said in previous messages, for voda to offer 200gb max whilst providing the best product offering is pretty poor IMHO.

Just checked my internet usage in case I am over-estimating my usage - in 5 days we have used 98GB - and I am on holiday! Gulp.

How much usage would you consider to be fair then?

I'm merely setting the record straight for you based on the realities of the real world. Your usage puts you in the very heavy user category way above anything close to the average internet user in NZ. The harsh but simply reality is you're going to have to adjust to slower speeds and/or a slower data cap because there simply are no other options.

If you want unlimited you'll have to put up with ADSL2+ if that's all that is available at your location. If you want a 4G solution you'll have to put up with the limitations of said product which will include data caps.

Vodafone don't necessarily want high use users on their network. They're providing products for the typical internet user, and by offering larger caps they'll ultimately make the experience worse for everybody. Wireless is a finite shared recourse, and is priced accordingly.

Having said that for a number of reasons Vodafone don't offer the cheapest or the best pricing on their own network when it comes to RBI offerings. There are other providers out their wholesaling RBI product that may give you a product more suited to your requirements if you're willing to pay the market rate for that.
