Looks like to me you are only worried about numbers, What do you need the speed for?
I would be more worried about latency

I take your point, which is why I made the joke about synthetic tests in my last post.
That said, if the actual connection was running at those ~3.5Mbps speeds (which it's not), I would consider that too slow for normal use.
What do you consider normal use? You don't need 3.5Mbp/s to open Trademe in an ok time you can even watch YouTube on this speed (not HD)

Cloud services mostly. Like if I need to download a 500MB OneNote notebook, I don't want it to take forever.

500MB lol really? Sorry what did you need the high speed for again?

500MB at 3.5Mbps is 20 minutes. Sure, that's a non-issue...
...If you're an Ent.

The other day I had to re-download a 438MB notebook because OneNote spat one of those 0xE000... errors and refused to let it sync. I wasn't timing, and I don't know whether the connection was H+, but I'd guess that it downloaded in less than 3 minutes and I remember thinking "thank god this isn't my ADSL home connection".
Not sure what you're getting at though, because the Vodafone connection was still fast. At least the DL was. I had to upload a ~2GB video a couple of weeks ago, and I really could have done with the 35Mbps up connection then.
EDIT: Looking at the way OneNote loads notes, I can't be certain that it downloaded the entire notebook in the time I thought it did. Regardless, my OneNote experience on mobile has been notably faster than on my 8Mbps ADSL2+ home internet.
